How long is a first visit?

Usually 30–45 minutes. That gives us time for a detailed history, a conversation about your needs and goals, a thorough evaluation, and a discussion about what we find and what your best options are.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing you can easily move around in.

What should I bring?

Any imaging CDs, reports, or recent doctor visit notes that might be helpful, plus contact information for your primary care provider and any specialists you are seeing.

What happens at a first visit?

We start with your history: when your symptoms started, what makes them better or worse, what you have already tried, and how this is affecting your life. Then we evaluate how you move and where the problem is coming from. From there we talk through what we found, whether imaging or additional tests would actually help, and a plan built around your needs and goals. We can also refer you for additional appropriate testing or specialist care if needed.

Do I need an X-ray or MRI?

Not necessarily. Imaging is ordered when the findings call for it — for example, red flags such as a recent injury, unexplained weight loss, fever, or changes in bladder or bowel function, or when your history suggests something that needs a closer look. Many cases of back and neck pain do not need imaging to start care.

Do you take my insurance?

We are in-network with BCBS. For Medicare patients, fees are paid at the time of the visit; we file the claims for you, and Medicare reimburses you directly. For all other plans, fees are due at the time of the visit and we can provide superbills so you can submit for reimbursement yourself. FSA and HSA payments are accepted.

Do you offer care plan packages?

Yes. Care plan packages are offered based on your individual needs and goals, tailored after your evaluation. We do not recommend long-term, one-size-fits-all “once you go you have to go forever” care. We do, however, offer wellness maintenance care plans once you are stable if you want.

What treatments do you offer?

In addition to hands-on chiropractic adjustments, care at our office includes:

  • Exercise and rehab — guided exercises to rebuild strength, mobility, and movement.
  • Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) — gentle microcurrent, using frequencies specific to the tissue and condition, to help reduce inflammation and support healing.
  • Red light therapy — targeted light applied to painful or injured tissue, to help reduce inflammation and support healing.
  • Avant Laser — focused laser light applied to painful or injured tissue, to help reduce inflammation and support healing.
  • PEMF — pulsed electromagnetic field therapy, to help reduce inflammation and support healing.
  • Arthrostim — a handheld instrument used for spinal and extremity adjustments and soft-tissue treatment

Who do you help?

We focus on nerve and musculoskeletal problems — the spine, joints, muscles, and the nerves that run through them — and we work with both acute injuries and chronic pain.

We especially enjoy the more complex problems: the “I’ve tried everything and no one has answers” kind. We can’t guarantee results, but we will look at the big picture, think outside the box, and connect the dots to look for the cause of your problem, not just its symptoms.
