While most people look forward to the holiday season, it is also a source of great stress, some obvious and some more subtle.

We might suffer physical stress from carrying heavy packages, moving furniture and decorating our homes. We may experience chemical stress from overeating, over-drinking, indulging in sugars, alcohol and fried foods, and disrupting our typical schedules. We often get emotional stress from the anxiety of getting everything done, the pressure of shopping, long hours, and the fallout from being around family members who are also stressed.

Everyone feels their stress differently – some feel it in tight muscles, while others digest their food less efficiently and even painfully. Others may worry, or become depressed, or just run full speed to handle all their responsibilities until they feel exhausted or burnt out. We must all learn to cope with our stresses the best we can – and here are a few pointers to make it a bit easier on you.

To have your best holidays, get enough rest, and drink lots of water. Eat fresh foods and avoid overdoing it. Take a little time for you, sitting quietly or relaxing. And make sure to visit your family chiropractor – you’ll feel the stress melt away when your spine is in proper alignment and your brain is tuned up.

Take a moment to be thankful about this lovely time of year, and enjoy it n the best of health!
